Referrals
A referral is not required to book an appointment if no claim is to be made with a third-party payer (e.g. Worksafe). Where a referral has been received from a GP or specialist, a written letter will be sent in reply.
SMS reminders
SMS reminders are sent the business day prior to your appointment. Please phone in advance if you are likely to be late for your appointment as, depending on your therapist’s availability, it might be necessary to reschedule the appointment.
Payment
Payment is required in full, at the time of the consultation, for all services and items supplied to clients – including self-managed NDIS participants and rebated GP Chronic Disease Management plans (EPC’s). EPC’s are NOT bulk-billed and an out-of-pocket amount equal to our private fees plus the full cost for supplied items will be charged. Any payments not received on the day of consultation will incur a $35 administration fee. There is no provision for payment plans.
Fees
Fees vary between Clinicians dependent on years of experience. Not all private health ancillary benefits cover Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. Please contact your health fund before your appointment to determine your eligibility for claiming.
WorkSafe/TAC/NDIS/DVA/BUPA ADF
Compensable clients require confirmation that their claim is active and accepted for hand therapy by their third-party payer. Clients are liable and accept full responsibility for WorkSafe, TAC, NDIS, DVA and BUPA ADF claims that are rejected or denied. In line with WorkSafe requirements, it is the responsibility of the client to obtain an initial referral from their GP or specialist prior to attending and additional referrals every three months or every ten visits; whichever is sooner. The practice must be notified immediately of any changes to the claim status.
Appointment Cancellations and Failure to Arrive
For late cancellations and failure to arrive at an appointment, a fee of $55.00 will be charged (24-hours’ notice is required for cancellations). All compensable clients (WorkSafe, TAC, DVA and BUPA ADF) will be personally responsible for payment of this fee. NDIS clients will be charged the full fee if the appointment is not cancelled at least 48 hours’ prior and cannot be filled; in accordance with NDIA policy. Clients who fail to attend three appointments without notification or sufficient notice will be denied any further appointments.
Failure to Pay
Additional administration fees, legal costs and commission will be added to any amount owing to Peninsula Hand Therapy where the matter is referred to a Collection Agency or Solicitor.
